Piteşti City, the administrative capital of Arges County, located in the south-central part of Romania, about 110 km (70 mi) north-west of Bucharest, the capital of Romania.

Mircea the Old first documented Piteşti as a trading center in May-20-1388.

The city has one of the largest petrochemical complexes in Romania. Near Pitesti, 15 Km west in the town of Mioveni is located the largest car factory in the country ( Dacia Renault).

The city has a population about 168.458 inhabitants (estimated in 2002).

Tourist attractions: The St. George church built in 1656 by Constantin Serban Cârnul, The City museum, the Art museum.

Pitesti is also known like “the city of tulips”, because every spring, the city hosts a famous exhibition named “The Tulips Symphony” witch gathers flowers from all around the country and the world in one big exhibition,

However, most of Pitesti is newly-built, and doesn't have castles, or many old buildings like Sibiu, Brasov or Bucharest, but is a beautiful city witch deserves to be visited.
